James Jean: Fables Covers

James Jean is an acclaimed cover artist for DC Comics, garnering four consecutive Eisner awards, three consecutive Harvey awards, two gold medals and a silver from the Society of Illustrators of LA, and a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators of NY. He has also contributed to many national and international publications. Outside the world of comics, his clients include Time Magazine, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Spin, ESPN, Atlantic Records, Target, Playboy, Knopf, Prada among others.

Fables is an 11 times Eisner Award Winner ongoing Vertigo comic book series created and written by Bill Willingham, starting in 2002. The series deals with various characters from fairy tales and folklore – referring to themselves as "Fables" – who have been forced out of their Homelands by a mysterious enemy known as the Adversary. They have traveled to our world and formed a clandestine community in New York City known as Fabletown.

James Jean was awarded Eisners for best cover artist for his work in Fables in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. You'll be hearing a lot more from this artist here, his work is truly superb.
